A group of French lawyers have decided to introduce the concept of class action to the French public through the web site classaction.fr. The first such action is against the movie industry and DVD copy protection. Under French law, any consumer has the right to make a personal copy of those for backup and personal use. Obviously, DVD protection breaks this law.
